Zlata Ehrenstein was born in Brooklyn, New York; the daughter of Rabbi Yehudah Leib, and his wife Chava. She grew up in Borough Park, learning first in Bais Yaakov, then in Bais Rivka, following which she earned a teaching degree, a profession for which she was greatly encouraged by the Lubavitcher Rebbe. Today, Zlata lives in Tsfat, Israel, where she teaches at Machon Alte and is a sought-after home lecturer, giving Torah classes on a weekly basis.
