Dr. Batya L. Ludman, a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced certification in thanatology, works extensively with trauma and loss. She has served on the Chevra Kadisha, worked with the American and Israeli communities after 9-11, and is a senior responder with United Hatzalah’s Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit. She maintains a private practice, working with individuals, families and communities around loss, most recently in the aftermath of October 7. She received her doctorate from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and held faculty positions at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, CUNY, and Dalhousie University. She served on the board of the provincial psychological association and licensing board, and currently sits on the advisory board for The Israel Association of Mental Health Professionals. She is published extensively in the professional and lay literature and writes a column for the Jerusalem Post. Dr. Ludman is the author of Life’s Journey. Exploring Relationships-Resolving Conflicts.
